Level-Up Your Character

Level-Up Your Character

The best leaders I have ever worked with have high confidence and high character.

These unique men and women, like you, have mastered skills that boost their confidence, but they are also laser-focused on strengthening the soul of their leadership.

That’s why I am writing to you today – to encourage and challenge you to take a few moments this week to examine the strength of your character. Proverbs 15:32 challenged me recently: “Anyone who ignores discipline despises himself …”.

Usually, it’s trials, setbacks, and failures that position us best to become leaders with strong character, but we can also strengthen our character by devoting time and resources to the disciplines that form our character.

Just as no great structure is built on a flimsy foundation, any work that we aspire to will ultimately be built upon the foundations of our character.

So, let me leave you with these reflection questions:

  • Is there an aspect of my character that needs more discipline and strengthening?
  • Does the way I speak of others, treat others, reflect God’s commands, steward resources, and handle challenges show the strength of character that I desire and that God requires?

I’ve asked Brent Monogue to make time on his calendar for you next week to process how we can support your leadership. You can reach out to Brent: brent@integrus.org
