Happy pet parents at a recent microchip & registration clinic in Los Angeles

Free Microchips & More! Over 300 Pets Get Prepped for a Safe & Happy 4th of July

July is National Lost Pet Prevention Month. To help prepare the community, our Better Neighbor Project team held a microchip and registration clinic hosted in partnership with Best Friends Animal Society, Angel City Pit Bulls, and Paws For Life K9 Rescue

A total of 339 microchips were registered, 253 ID tags were created, and over 100 pets were signed up for our Spay and Neuter program. Additionally, leashes, collars, and treats were distributed to attendees.

We commend all the caring pet parents who took the time to ensure their pets were well cared for and could be easily identified if they got lost. The 4th of July season is the busiest time for shelters due to pets getting scared of the fireworks and other loud noises and having them run as far from the noises as possible.  That is one of many reasons that these efforts are especially important during this time.

Special credit goes to the Better Neighbor Project’s Program Coordinator, Martin Falcon, for capturing these stunning pet portraits at the event—simply gorgeous!
