Will This Matter in One Year?

I could tell you what was going down twelve months ago. I was finishing my writing year with my longest article to date. I am a little behind this year. I have so many drafts something will be carried into next year.

Not that anyone will read my 2025 articles either. Who can find them? Even future articles are evergreen so they can be enjoyed at your earliest convenience. There are certain concepts at work where they act like the world will end if we don't maintain a certain level.

Most of those have been phased out. No one lost their job over having lower totals. Many things in school were treated like "Life or death". In the working world, it is amazing how little school comes into play.

I made little or no difference in school. It usually happens at work. I am so good at my job people take me for granted. It's not like I m going to miss a day to show them what I offer. They will act like it was no big deal.

One supervisor said I could work the two days before my flight. Since supervisors do not communicate, another supervisor said I should stay home. I was already paid for the week. The next day was extremely busy and a longtime employee replaced me.

He replaced me the way Curtis Painter followed Peyton Manning. This guy did not "Suck for Luck". Two things happened when I returned the following Monday. We were essential employees now working in a pandemic and others told me how a man who ran his mouth could not handle the workload.

He retired and is not missed. Some are nice in the moment and sour to the point that when they leave it is a relief. It is funny how many things seemed the "Worst thing ever" and barely register at this point.

Some movies are "Instant classics" and do not resonate. No one talks about American Beauty or Juno anymore. They are available to watch. No one fondly recalls Driving Miss Daisy. It was good and won Best Picture.

Do the Right Thing was not even nominated and is the second most shown film in Film Studies classes behind The Godfather. Someday I shall write about the Spike Lee film. Add that to the list.

There are probably four hundred articles I don't write every year. Some remain on the back burner for a long time. When the time is right. Try not stressing over things you cannot control.

Some things that matter fall away. How many posts were there about "The NFT space"? That has gone into the ether. I don't know if anyone actually made money selling Jpegs. I recall relationships that sprouted from Yahoo Groups.

They entailed meeting in person. Not everyone was great. Many ere. It was the No Longer Virtual of its era. Strangely, the "All year conference" has not felt that way. Certain people stopped posting. I haven't.

Twelve months from now someone might like this article. Some discover my work long after the fact. It's a moment in time. Worry about right now. Some pursuits won't work out. Others will pay dividends you couldn't imagine.
