THE NEW TITANS of the TECH WORLD

This Morning, I was very excited to attend the 3rd GP Bullhound RESEARCH PRESENTATION : EUROPE'S TITANS OF TECH 2017.

The main goal of this Report is to give an accurate footprint of the Tech Companies in EU. How they perform, how they grow and potentially how they jump from a Unicorn to a Titan Status.

Who are the winners ?

We hasten to add that our EU champions are Delivery Hero, Spotify, and Zalando.

The 6 companies on the left are the most important in term of valuation based on revenue estimates or rumour revenues.

To be a Titan, you need to get external growth as well as Fund raising. EU doesn't belong so far to the very private club of the companies how have 50$ Valuation. To date EU is at an average of 1.8b$ funding raised.

Here there are the EU's Leading tech companies. In 2010, two years after foundation, Zalando has revenues of 150M €. 6 years later, Zalando had increased his revenue at 3,6B€ ( a 2400% growth).

56% of the global Revenue generate in this top ten is made by eCommerce Companies !

We noted this morning that 3 top Tech companies Valuation in EU (Spotify, Zalando and Supercell) are valued over 10B$.

The First French Company, Criteo is ranked at the 15th second one, Vente-Privée.com at the 20th.

Nevertheless what we need to take away is the new landscape 2017 of EUROPE's BILLION-DOLLAR companies. 57 companies belong to this ranking with these insights.

The share of profitable companies has increased to 72% from 60% in 2016.

Germany is the winner with the fastest growth in Tech with 7 Billion-dollar companies such as AUTO 1 group, Trivago as well as Zalando

The interesting point i would like to share with you is the Education Experience that GP Bullhound report put forward, and especially these 3 points :

• 46% of the founders tech companies are under the age of 30.
• the other interesting point is that 30% are expatriates. and 60% of them started their company in the UK
• 50% of the founders don't have any previous founding experience before.

According to GP Bullhound Survey the next EU Billion-Dollar Company are in this pyramid. we are talking about the Start-Ups which have the potential to become a one Billion-Dollar Company within the next 2 years.

We can't imagine how exciting the following years will be !
