OTK Media Mid-Year Report

OTK Media Mid-Year Report

OTK's been on a wild ride in 2024, and we're only halfway through. From innovative content creation to groundbreaking indie game support, we've been pushing the envelope in all corners of the industry.

OTK Film Festival

We started the year by welcoming Will Neff to the OTK family (a brilliant addition to our creative powerhouse). The OTK Film Festival challenged fans to flex their creative muscles. The Film Festival was the ultimate test of fan creativity, with the option to use green screen footage or show off their cinematic prowess. The show had 178 film submissions, but only the top 20 had the honor of being judged and scored live. The event had a star-studded judging panel featuring Twitch royalty Dan Clancy, our own lovable misfits, and even Andy Milonakis, (yes, he's still alive and funnier than ever).

OTK's Top Streamer presented by Progressive Insurance

Our search for the next big streamer has been nothing short of entertaining. Think of it as the gaming industry's answer to "American Idol," but with more Funko Pops and questionable life choices. Chapter 1 of OTK Top Streamer brought forth a diverse array of talent from across the digital landscape. We went from 40 contestants to two finalists, MoatSimulator and Sardaco, who will compete in the Grand Finale of Chapter 4. Meanwhile, Chapter 2 is in full swing with 18 contestants vying for the spotlight.

Always On Connected by AT&T

Emiru and ExtraEmily have been living the "stream everything" life, thanks to AT&T. From NASCAR pit crews to cabin-in-the-woods pajama parties (no, we're not making this up), they've been everywhere. During the most recent episode of Alway On, ExtraEmily hosted a pickleball tournament for the ages; we saw speed, grace, and surprisingly, no injuries.

Pixel Pitch Sponsored by Ally

We've been doubling down on our commitment to indie game development. Pixel Pitch, our "Shark Tank" for indie devs, has already awarded $60,000 to fund 15 passionate projects, thanks to our partnership with Ally . This initiative underscores the vital role of indie developers in driving innovation and creating new genres in the gaming industry. Indie developers are the core of the gaming industry, constantly pushing the boundaries forward and creating new genres that fans didn't even know they wanted. In the past five years, we have seen a boom in indie titles, with titles like Stardew Valley and Helldivers dominating the gaming space.

OTK Games Expo Presented by Cash App

The 2024 OTK Games Expo Presented by Cash App was a resounding success, solidifying its position as a premier event in the indie game scene.

We showcased 40 incredible indie games and generated over 140,000 wishlists and 10,000 downloads and purchases. During the show, we reached a peak of 360,000 concurrent viewers across all our official streams and co-streamers like Lirik, IGN Entertainment , and GameSpot . Earlier in the year, we launched the OTK Games Expo YouTube, where you can find all the trailers, gameplay segments, developer interviews, and more!

Our publishing arm, Mad Mushroom has hit some incredible milestones this year. The OTK Games Expo was a highlight event for them showing off two new games, Splodey and Claws & Chaos. To celebrate Splodey's launch, Mizkif and Mad Mushroom hosted a $10,000 speedrun competition, challenging streamers to see who could complete the game the fastest.

Rumble Club's second season is live now, bringing medieval mayhem to the Rumble arena. Not to mention the team over at BitCake Studio announced a new Atomic Picnic Playtest and showed off some of the major changes they have been working on for the early access launch in September.

Street Fighter Tournament with Team Liquid

We joined forces with Team Liquid to host a Street Fighter 6 tournament with the support of Capcom , blending our content creation expertise with TL's esports pedigree. This collaboration showcased our talent's competitive side (even if some of them got absolutely bodied) and highlighted the potential for crossover events between traditional content creators and esports athletes.

WoW Remix Mists of Pandaria Transmog Competition

In a nod to our roots and the enduring appeal of World of Warcraft, we partnered with Blizzard Entertainment to revive our popular Transmog Competition. Timed with the release of WoW Remix Mists of Pandaria, this event tapped into gaming nostalgia while creatively engaging the WoW community.

Starforge Systems Supremacy

Our PC building division, Starforge, has been crafting some of the most visually striking and high-performance computers on the market. In six months, they've created custom PCs for major names like Sentinels , Summit1G, RuneScape, and Smite. This success underscores the growing demand for personalized, high-end gaming hardware and the potential for hardware collaborations in the gaming space.

This mid-year recap showcases OTK's commitment to innovation across content creation, game development support, and hardware solutions. We're excited to continue pushing boundaries and creating value in the gaming ecosystem.

"We released a bunch of derivative content, and started a company to make derivative games! So innovative! Much groundbreaking!"
