Passionate pursuits | Meet Juliy He | Future Master’s Student, Les Roches

Our Meet Future Leaders feature gives us the opportunity to discover more about some of the young talents who have been accepted to study with Les Roches in 2024.

The third in our series introduces Juliy He, who is joining the Master’s in Marketing Management and Luxury Tourism program at our Marbella campus.

Please introduce yourself

My name is Juliy He and I’m from the beautiful Caribbean island of Sint Maarten. I moved to the Netherlands nearly 10 years ago, where I completed my Bachelor’s in International Business Management at The Hague University. Since then, I’ve gained valuable insights into the fascinating world of marketing and developed a strong passion for the hospitality industry, having had the opportunity to work within a renowned international hotel chain. I’m thrilled to be joining the Les Roches family in Marbella and looking forward to learning more about this fascinating sector.

If I were to describe myself in three words, they would be ‘hard-working’, ‘kind’ and ‘enthusiastic’. And I’m always trying to have a positive outlook on whatever challenge comes my way.

Why did you choose Les Roches?

I decided to apply to Les Roches because of its renowned reputation in the hospitality and luxury industry. My aim is to pursue my passion for marketing and gain invaluable experience, so in reality I could not see myself anywhere else.

What do you expect from both the school and this postgraduate program? 

I believe the program will provide me with a wealth of valuable insight and knowledge, but I also expect Les Roches will give me the best possible guidance to advance my career. I’m certain this Master’s program will equip me with the right skills, experiences and connections to excel in any industry.

What’s the most important thing you hope to learn from a personal development point of view?

I’m truly grateful to have worked at a company that not only embraced my authentic self but also provided me with the freedom to pursue what excites me – leading and managing a team to its full potential. That’s what I’m hoping to develop further while at Les Roches, particularly improving my leadership and communication skills and honing my emotional intelligence so I can become a better professional. 

What are your professional ambitions for after you graduate?

Ideally, I would love to use the skills and knowledge I gain at Les Roches in a dynamic environment and apply my leadership abilities to contribute to the success of whichever company employs me. Who knows, maybe I will start my own venture in the future？
