People at Temedica: Nils, Sales Development Representative

We're growing fast at Temedica, and a big player in our growth is none other than our Sales Development Representative Nils Hachman ! In the latest edition of People at Temedica, he walks us through his career journey, as well as the skills and attributes needed to make a success of your application.

For those who don’t know what a Sales Development Representative does, how would you define your role?

A SDR handles the early stages in the sales process. Their objective is to generate new leads and qualify them as a good fit before handing them over to an Account Executive who will be then responsible for the further customer journey.

Can you tell us about your career journey and how you came across this opportunity at Temedica?

As a certified speech therapist, I haven’t had the classical journey from university into an industry job! After working for several years as a therapist, I kind of slipped into a sales role in a laboratory technology startup, where I successfully built a sales pipeline globally within 5 years. Afterwards, I decided to be self-employed as a LinkedIn Sales Navigator Coach, while being in paternity leave for a year before I came across the opportunity at Temedica.

What made you want to work in sales in the first place?

I always had some talent and interest in business development and sales, which was mainly influenced by my father. I had a few side jobs in sales while studying, and was always kind of successful in it! As I had fun doing it, I became more and more passionate about the psychology of sales and marketing, and this is something I am learning about to this day.

We’re on the hunt for new talents and currently have several open HR positions - what do you think is essential for a candidate to bring with them if they’re to make a success of their time here?

I think people need to be open minded - and willing to learn and try new things to be able to succeed. 

What do you value the most at Temedica?

Across the board we have great talent here at Temedica, and I am learning a lot by working with these amazing people. I also work in a flexible environment where I have a lot of freedom and responsibility at the same time, which is highly valuable to me.
