  • 📱 In the age of social media, it’s now easier than never to go viral. One user proved that to be true recently, after she started smashing cans daily in an effort to reach 500,000 followers on Instagram. The user, who goes by the handle @thebestmarketingstrategyever, has indeed hit that goal. She also now has a brand deal with canned mocktail business Mixoloshe, and continues to smash cans as she now sits at 520k followers.
  • 🥤 Healthy beverage behemoth Poppi is being sued by a woman from California who claims that the drinks do not provide any functional benefits from drinking just one can. Instead, she claims that you’d need to drink at least four cans to see health benefits. Company leaders are ignoring her claims and standing by the brand.
  • 🌶️ Chipotle is back in the spotlight this week, and is facing new controversy. Many on social media have noted that their Chipotle bowls have seemed to include less food than in previous years, while prices have remained the same. The controversy got so big that Chipotle’s CEO, Brian Niccol, addressed claims in an interview, saying that despite online outrage, portion sizes remain the same.

  • Lil Wayne x Domino’s Pizza: To celebrate Domino’s finally being on UberEats, the pizza company decided to give away $10 million in free pizza. To advertise this, they teamed up with rapper Lil Wayne, who remixed his popular song “A Milli” to collaborate with the brand. Multiple big outlets have picked up the news, including People and US Weekly.
  • Nuun Hydration: To celebrate 20 years of their company, Nuun Hydration announced they’re coming to Chicago from June 21-30 to host more than a week of “unexpected workouts”. Advertising has gone up on streets around Chicago and anyone is allowed to sign up.
