In 2016, during a presentation to the Canada Translation Bureau, CSA Research coined this forward-thinking approach, highlighting that human expertise must drive technological processes. This distinction is crucial as it moves away from the idea of humans as mere AI janitors—cleaning up after the technology—towards a paradigm where humans are the primary decision-makers, supported by advanced technology.

CSA Research coined the term GCSP (Global Content Service Providers) at our CEO Leadership Council Summit in Boston in 2017, where we first advised our clients about this important shift. Definitely agree on the post-loc era. The graph with the translator /linguist in the middle – I don’t agree. We are missing the point: translation is no longer necessary. It’ll be agents /assistants serving content ad-hoc drawing data from content producers. Translating a website has been good for SEO and to explain product and service features until now. Companies like HubSpot or Marketo have based their business model on fast loading websites and content. But organizations can save millions on translations if they deploy custom, fine-tuned multilingual assistants. This is worth a webinar :)

Post localization is a term that sounds impressive but doesn’t truly capture its essence. With the rise of Generative AI, we are seeing an increase in synthetic content. However, AI lacks creativity, leading to a stagnation, producing stale content snd web pages. Human translators will always be essential in driving content creation, with AI serving as a supportive tool. The current hype around AI and post-localization is unwarranted.
