Pride@SAP Atlanta Celebrates Pride with Human Rights Campaign

On Sunday October 13, Pride@SAP Atlanta had an incredible opportunity to celebrate pride with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). Attendees of the event were able to enjoy brunch, unlimited adult beverages and a front row seat to watch the parade.

What made this Pride so special? SAP had a representation of over 20+ colleagues, friends and families celebrating the event. The best part? The bonding. Colleagues were able to share stories to learn more about the people they work with every day.

Rain and no shine didn’t stop the parade from marching on. From Delta to the Atlanta Police Department, Stacy Abrams, John Lewis and Home Depot, the parade was in full pride stride for two complete hours.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support. We braved the rain and still had a blast!

What is Atlanta Pride?

Established in 1971, Atlanta Pride is one of the oldest and largest pride festivals in the United States.  According to the Atlanta Pride Committee, the city of Atlanta expects an attendance around 300,000. Originally a pride held in June, Atlanta Pride has been held in October every year since 2008, typically on a weekend closest to National Coming Out Day.

What is HRC?

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is American’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer equality. Founded in 1980, HRC has worked endlessly in Congress to help advance America into accepting the LGBTQ community. Additionally, the HRC Foundation provides resources on coming out, transgender issues, LGBT-related healthcare topics, and information about workplace issues faced by LGBT people, including the Corporate Equality Index.
