Psychosocial Safety Investigations: All-new Practical 10-week Program for HSE/HR Professionals

Build your knowledge and skills in investigating psychosocial safety hazards and incidents. Cohort 1 commences 19 September 2024! 

The Psychosocial Safety Investigations Program has been developed to assist people and safety professionals build confidence and capability to investigate complex workplace incidents and complaints. Participants will learn to consider how psychosocial hazards and factors may have contributed to a range of incident types, from physical injuries and unsafe work practices and psychological injuries arising from poor work design to workplace bullying, sexual harassment, and violence. 

The content of the 10-week program is highly practical. Participants are required to apply what they have learned through three key activities introduced during the lectures. They will also have an opportunity to learn from the experiences of like-minded colleagues, sharing additional tips and brainstorming solutions to implementing leading practices in psychological health and safety management. 

Online delivery means that learners can join in from anywhere in the world. For those who can’t make it to one or more live sessions, each session is recorded and shared the day after delivery.

In this episode, Australian hosts Jason and Joelle chat with Emma Peterson, Partner at  Russell McVeagh. Emma provides legal insights into a recent case in the New Zealand  Employment Court involving Associate Professor Siouxie Wiles and the University of Auckland. The Court found in favour of Dr Wiles in relation to ongoing harassment she had received from members of the public. Emma takes us through the key elements of the claim, the steps taken by the University, the Court findings, and lessons for employers arising from this case.
