Together Alone in a Garden of Stone
Separated by time and space they are kindred spirits in heart and soul,
Each longing for a lost love to hold;
Each together but apart,
Each gather their grief into their heart;
Separated by time and space, they stand and kneel together in their gardens of stone,
Where below their feet the remains of a lost love have gone;
Each telling the other, “It will be fine”,
But neither believing the words meant to comfort and ease the passage of time;
Together alone their souls are wracked by intense grief,
No matter how brief;
Together alone,
They both leave their gardens of stone.
