To the top!

To the top!

Finally, we could start using the very tall climbing wall at Copenhill, Copenhagen. Our local climbing club, responsible for the operations of the wall, has carried out some test-climbing and their response are phenomenal. Yes, there is always room for fine-tuning and adjustment of some of the routes, but all in all, this is a truly stunning experience (they say – I have not yet dared to try it out for myself yet!).

I am so proud of the achievements of this project! Designing the climbing wall took several months of hard work from Walltopia, BIG and not least – with lots and lots of expert input from the Danish climbing community. The construction of the wall was extremely challenging and called for new mounting methods. The super tough and competent staff from Walltopia worked relentlessly – in hard wind, rain, sun, high and low temperatures – to complete the installation. And now the world’s tallest climbing wall is there, giving - for the first time ever - the climbers visiting Copenhagen the chance of trying out multi-pitch climbing in the middle of the city.

A very big thank you goes to the dedicated people at the Danish climbing federation and the Danish climbing community, who all have worked so hard on this journey. And to the private trusts and municipalities that have supported and believed in this project – thank you so much for daring to support something so wild and ambitious! And lastly, a big shout-out to the dedicated team at Walltopia who helped us bringing the dream to life!

We are looking so much forward to see you on the wall - or on the slope (if you prefer skiing on the powerplant!).
