An Unforgettable Experience!

This article was prepared by Anna Grzebińska , our HR Partner who joined #CDPR five years ago. Read on to find out why Promised Land Art Festival was such an important event for her, what she enjoyed the most, and how she even ended up with a permanent reminder of her time!

I am very happy that I could take part in this event for the second time.

Promised Land is a unique platform that brings together artists of all fields, and I don’t think I realized the scope of its size until I saw it with my own eyes. The fact that #CDPR is the organizer of something that brings together amazing talents from around the world made me feel proud and cognizant of the fact that I’m part of something important, innovative, and simply amazing!

This edition of Promised Land felt very personal to me — not only because I waited four years for it, but also because the event’s finale coincided with my birthday.

It was the perfect culmination of a fantastic four days, which were a mix of great fun, emotions, interesting meetings, contact with art in all its forms, plus a few surprises.

These are the top 3 things I enjoyed the most!

1 — The people and the atmosphere! Having worked at RED for five years now, the most special moments were when I had the opportunity to talk to fellow and former employees, as well as other creatives, about their passions. I first attended PLAF at the beginning of my career, so it was an incredible full-circle moment. I was also accompanied by a few new people from my team, so seeing their excited reactions to the magical nature of this event was incredibly gratifying. I'm so glad I could be a part of it.

2 — The festival’s program! There were plenty of interesting presentations, and I was impressed for the second time by Tomek Radziewicz (a great sculptor and creature & character designer). However, as someone from HR who is interested in topics of organizational culture, values, and their impact on business aspects, a highly anticipated element of the program was “Care, Respect and Community as Building Blocks of Business. How Diversity, Inclusion and Addressing Mental Health Issues are Simply a Good Deal”, run by our Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion Director, Agnieszka Szamałek-Michalska .

3 — The personal keepsakes (my first tattoo)! Promised Land featured some incredibly talented tattoo artists, and I was able to sit down for a session — the design holds a personal and sentimental meaning to me, with a bit of RED spirit as well! Since these tattoo sessions were going on at the same time as everything else, a few other REDs were there to contribute to this special moment. Sebastian Kalemba , Wojtek Pankowski , Michal Giersz (he/him) , and Marcin Łukaszewski — huge kudos for that! Of course, I must mention the wonderful artist Tazuka from the Warsaw INK studio, who made my dream tattoo a reality.

At the very end of my stay in Łódź….

I managed to snag one of @Grzegorz Rosiński's sketches, which he created live during Promised Land Art Festival. It was a serendipitous moment: I was part of the crowd reaching out for his drawings, and actually receiving one was something totally surreal to me. While thanking him for the opportunity to meet in person, I mentioned that it was my birthday, so he even added a small dedication from himself.

It’s wonderful to come home with so many fantastic memories, and even a permanent reminder of my experience!
