New Hydrolite SF 200 single frequency echo sounder
UPG (Ultimate Positioning Group), in partnership with Australian Seafloor Systems, has secured stock of the new HydroLite SF 200 echo sounders, available for delivery in January 2025.
The HydroLite SF 200 is a single-frequency echo sounder, designed for cost-effective and efficient underwater surveys, especially in shallow water environments. With its straightforward plug-and-play design, it is easy to operate and interpret data from .csv, .ascii, or .txt file formats. Ideal for basic depth measurements, it is particularly useful in coastal regions and for hydrographic surveys where detailed seafloor mapping is not essential.
Key advantages of the HydroLite SF 200 include its affordability compared to multibeam echo sounders, making it an accessible option for a variety of industries. Its compact size makes it perfect for use on smaller vessels, and its reliability in shallow water ensures accurate measurements in environments where high precision is not critical. It’s also a great tool for sediment transport studies and environmental monitoring.
However, it’s important to note that the HydroLite SF 200 measures depth directly beneath the transducer, resulting in a narrow depth profile and only a single point recorded shot of the seafloor. This can be a limitation when detailed topographic features, like ridges or depressions, need to be identified.
