Welcome to this week's RFS Report!
Last week, we asked our followers who was doing the hiring at your companies, and the results are pretty split.
A little over half said they rely on in-house recruiting teams, and the rest partner with external agencies or someone else at the company hires.
A note for the 22% whose leadership team manages hiring - hiring can take a LOT of time. From sourcing to reviewing resumes to scheduling - that’s a lot of time taken away from other areas of the business.
And then there’s the opportunity cost of not having someone in the role. According to LinkedIn, Engineering roles take an average of 49 days to fill (at RFS, we’re proud that half our candidates go from first interview to offer in 21.5 days).
As we enter into Q4, we encourage leaders to take stock of how much time they’re spending recruiting and if searches are taking longer than 3 months. Partnering with an agency can reduce the time to hire for critical roles.
Reminder - join us in two weeks for a virtual discussion on succession planning!
Join us on October 20th for a discussion on succession planning for startups. While often overlooked, long-term succession planning can minimize disruption - and ensure businesses can continue to grow.
Panelists include Tom Callahan and Diane Rigatuso, moderated by Kim Steele.
