😱 What it REALLY Takes to Get a Job in F1: And it's not what you think. Plus the latest opportunities in the industry.
We have some fantastic opportunities in Motorsport for you this week! But first, have you ever wondered what it truly takes to land your dream job in Formula 1? Spoiler alert: it’s not just about knowing the difference between a gearbox and a steering wheel! Let's take a look shall we?
Yes, forget the years of hard work. If you’re not assembling engines in your crib, just give up now. Preferably, be able to solve complex aerodynamic problems before you can spell ‘aerodynamic.’
Everyone knows F1 is all about speed. If you can’t manipulate time to attend every possible networking event, conference, and race weekend simultaneously, you’re just not trying hard enough.
Who needs sleep when you can spend those precious hours brushing up on telemetry data and perfecting your lap times on simulators? Real F1 pros function perfectly on 30-minute power naps. Anything more is just luxury.
Your uncle's neighbour’s dog’s previous owner was once a part-time janitor at an F1 team’s HQ? Perfect. Network, network, network. And if that doesn’t work, try bribery. Or witchcraft. Your call.
Got an event in Monaco and another in Silverstone on the same day? No problem. Just split yourself in two. Can’t do that? Well, maybe F1 isn’t for you. Remember, teleportation is an underrated skill in motorsport.
Forget English. Learn to speak in CAD models, torque specs, and suspension geometries. If people can’t understand you, you're probably on the right track.
Waiting for responses to your job applications? Expect a timeframe of approximately… never. If you get a reply, it’s probably your great-great-grandchild reading it to you.
Coffee isn't just a beverage, it's a lifestyle. Get used to having an IV drip of espresso. It’s the secret fuel behind every successful F1 career.
Rejection letters? Frame them. They’re just stepping stones to your inevitable success. Or use them as wallpaper to remind yourself why you’re sleep-deprived and overly caffeinated.

Some say it’s optional, but let’s be real. Your soul can probably be traded for some much-needed CFD simulations or a new set of tyres. Choose wisely.
In all seriousness, though...
Breaking into the F1 industry is no small feat. It really does require dedication, resilience, and a relentless passion for motorsport. And while the journey might be tough, remember to enjoy the ride and never lose your sense of humour!
