What Are Your Thoughts on the Obstacles to Global Cellular IoT Connectivity?

As a former tenured employee of Verizon solving for customer’s connectivity needs was a daily occurrence for me. Now as a consultant in the IoT space, we have seen a significant increase in the number of questions posed to our team from service providers.

Issues with roaming, network complexity, cost, time to market, security, an compliance requirements are top of mind of the service providers who are asked to offer added services outside their home network coverage.

Traditionally, service providers simply entered into roaming agreements to resolve these challenges. But the need to have more complex integrations with multiple carriers presents new challenges to solve.

Service providers are asking:

  • “Can we have one single and simple network integration to reach a global scale?”
  • “Is there a comprehensive cloud-based OSS/BSS, dashboard, and device management platform?”
  • “How do we manage this data flow for, security, compliance, and data sovereignty?”

What other challenges do you see? Are we missing any questions?

We at James Brehm & Associates are conducting this study to uncover how you are focusing on the core business values you expect as you manage global connectivity and maintain customer relations.

By taking this brief 10-minute survey you get the benefit of benchmarking your company and will receive a report containing the insights our study reveals once it is concluded. Respondents that complete the report will also get a FREE T-shirt and are also entered to win a Logitech serious streaming webcam.

All responses will be kept confidential.

My number one issue has always been maintainability. Firmware goes stale rapidly.
