What's next for Townish

We launched Townish nine months ago. It's been a wild ride — kind of like planting a seed and seeing it sprout into something awesome. Now, we're pumped to share where we're headed next!

What is Townish

First things first, let’s clarify what Townish is all about. Townish serves as a marketplace for a wide array of out-of-office experiences. We facilitate connections between companies and vetted service providers, helping them organize offsites, events, team activities, and more. Our marketplace boasts over 200 vendors, ranging from hotels and villas to event venues, caterers, workshops, and transportation services.

Why now

It’s been four years since the beginning of the pandemic, and there still isn't an operating system for the new way we work. Employees are increasingly dispersed - whether working remote / hybrid, or in companies with multiple offices - and this reduces connectivity, motivation and team performance. The best way to improve all of these and create a strong company culture is through intentional team gatherings, bringing your team together for successful events that yield a strong ROI.

We believe that the world of work will only become more distributed, driven by the internet. But employees and employers alike will want to come together and meet IRL. And events are not necessarily playing laser tag or having a cooking class - events are intentional gatherings that can effectively replace the office for many remote and hybrid teams.

what we're working on

We've been serving clients for a while, and we've seen firsthand how the world of events can and will be automated, without sacrificing the experience. This world consists of two major problems, which are intertwined but can also exist independently: Discovery and Planning.

  • Discovery - How do you find vetted services for events and how do you know if they are actually suitable for your needs?
  • Planning - How do you coordinate different services and logistics, build materials and content for the events, utilize best practices, and execute a great event?

Each event is built from scratch. Sourcing, following up, scheduling, booking. There is so much mundane, manual, and expensive work taking place and it can all be automated.

To build a product that solves this, we need to ensure that:

  • We have the best services available in each geography we work in.
  • We have enough data to match these services with teams.
  • These services can be interacted with and booked on our website.
  • We have an entire workflow to plan the event agenda and logistics.

And we're working on all of these aspects. Things take time, but we're making rapid progress. Here are some of the things you can expect to see in 2024:

  • Matching teams with the right services.
  • Booking individual services.
  • Agenda builder for events.
  • Automated onboarding of vendors.

And..as we'll be preparing for expansion to the U.S. later this year, we utilize AI-driven algorithms to onboard more vendors in additional geographies.
