  • This beautiful shadow box showcases the badges of a law enforcement career spanning three decades. Today, we celebrated the retirement of Crime Scene Investigator, David Allen. It's a tradition of the Alexandria Police Department to do so with a ceremonial walkout and Police escort to the retiree's home. Every hand was clapping and cheering for Allen, as he walked out and drove away to begin his next chapter. Allen began his career as a Sheriff's Deputy at the Alexandria Sheriff's Office in 1993, joining APD in 2003. He became a Field Training Officer where he trained and mentored new officers. During his career, he was nominated, selected, and graduated from the Virginia State Police Forensic Science Academy. Allen retired as a CSI, uncovering and analyzing evidence at crime scenes. He also documented APD events taking photos, capturing monumental moments we will always cherish. CSI Allen, thank you for your dedication to this noble profession for 31 years. We wish you a wonderful retirement! #AlexandriaVAPD #Tradition #APDFamily #Lawenforcement
