Hard Hatted Women - You now have your Anthem! I wrote this song last year because I love construction and it is time for the industry to evolve, be more inclusive and attract a diverse set of people. My one request is you go back to your companies and organizations and put together a slideshow or video to share during Women in Construction Week March 3-9th. After 20 years in construction, I know it takes grit and determination to be a Woman in Construction. It deserves a great song, at the very least. I am grateful to work for Dome Construction where I have found my voice and leadership. I have the freedom to break the mold with collaboration and self-expression (thanks to my ukulele!) I also cherish the network I have built through NAWIC Silicon Valley. Thanks to Matt Hale, EIT for the Album art work, you rock! It turned out awesome! My hope is as the industry evolves there is more space for women to rise up and own their power, and that more women will discover the joy in construction the way I do.
