About us

Mission Statement: To enhance the quality of life for individuals and families of Black and African Heritage through positive social change for people experiencing mental health difficulties. We seek to define and highlight the differing identities we bring with us that can contribute to the disparity that we encounter. Vision Statement: Our Vision is to empower community members of Black and African Heritage through advocacy and policy reform for culturally informed and equitable access to housing, mental health treatment, education, criminal justice, entrepreneurship and employment. Membership: Attendance of one general meeting justifies membership. General meetings are scheduled for the 1st Monday of every month at 9:30am. General meetings will be inclusive of allyship. Safe spaces solely for Black persons will be created throughout the work as supplemental support to our community to allow for discussion/topics for us and by us.
