Innovating the Future of Hospitality
About us
Boston University’s School of Hospitality is changing the way the world looks at hospitality. Hospitality is rooted in hotels, restaurants, travel, and tourism. These are the foundational pillars of a multibillion-dollar industry. The principle of hospitality – making people feel seen, heard, and valued by understanding who they are and their needs – holds utility within any organization wanting to build lasting relationships with internal and external audiences. At Boston University’s School of Hospitality, we believe people can concept, engineer, and implement experiences that are innovative by making them meaningful and memorable to their targeted internal and external audiences. We call this Experience Innovation. It is the deliberate use of human interaction to meet strategic objectives and optimize stakeholder value. Experience Innovation differentiates Boston University’s School of Hospitality from other hospitality and business programs. The school integrates a composite of disciplines that includes business, psychology, communications, operations, and experiential design to optimize human interaction to achieve concrete organizational and societal objectives. Boston University School of Hospitality students graduate as Experience Innovators and their education serves as a springboard for careers in hotels, restaurants, travel and tourism, healthcare, sports and entertainment venues, technology and beyond.

Over the past few months, we've had the privilege of working closely with ALDAU Development’s senior leaders on a tailored executive education program focused on finance, real estate, innovation, and leadership in Cairo and in Boston. We're proud to have been part of this initiative and look forward to future opportunities with ALDAU Development. #realestate #hospitalityindustry #executiveeducation
Associate Professor of the Practice | Director, Real Estate Programs at Boston University School of Hospitality Administration
Over the last few months, we have had the pleasure of working on an executive education program focused on finance, real estate, innovation and leadership with the senior leaders of ALDAU Development, one of the most dynamic hospitality and real estate development companies in Egypt. Conceived by Mr. Bassel Sami Saad, Chairman of ALDAU Development, Lars Geweyer, CEO of ALDAU Development, and Dean Arun Upneja of the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration to support ALDAU’s dynamic growth and global ambitions, the program started with two weeks of intense learning and engagement in Cairo, followed by five weeks of sessions online, and finally a week in Boston meeting senior industry leaders and touring world-class hotels, restaurants and real estate developments. Creating and teaching a meaningful executive education program takes a village, starting with our fantastic colleagues at Boston University – Arun Upneja, Ian Mashiter, Lisa Haueisen Rohrer, Lucy White, Taylor Peyton, Mara Littman and Olivia Lizza. The week in Boston was made special by so many leaders who made the time to share learnings and engage – Keith Craig at New Balance, Chad F. Sorensen, CHAM, ISHC at CHMWarnick, John Murray at Sonesta Hotels, Alan Suzuki at JLL, James Luchars, advisor to Stonebridge Cos, Victoria Maguire and Yanni Tsipis at WS Development, Peter Kuhlmann at Carpenter & Company, Ahmed Yacout at the Four Seasons One Dalton, Suki Scott at The Liberty Hotel, Efren Aponte at Highgate, and Garrett Harker at the Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drinks. And finally to the leaders at ALDAU Development, we thoroughly enjoyed working with you and wish you the very best in the future!
