Independent since 1906, we empower people through sport and craftsmanship to create positive change around the world.

About us

In 1906, New Balance began as a humble one-man operation founded on the belief that “we were born to move,” and has since grown into an international corporation, selling footwear and apparel in over 120 countries and employing over 8,000 associates worldwide. Our mission has always been to support the performance of athletes, and with an unparalleled focus on quality and craftsmanship, we’ve come to set the standard for comfort and fit in an industry all too often driven by hype. We’re incredibly proud of our history and how far we’ve come, but companies don’t thrive for over a century by being content. Whether it’s setting a new style trend, retooling our manufacturing process, or building a new state-of-the-art headquarters, we pursue innovation with a spirit of fearless independence. As the only privately held major footwear company in the world, we’re free to do things our way, pushing limits and testing boundaries as we continually reimagine what could be. After all, the status quo isn’t static. But doing things our way wouldn’t mean much if we weren’t also doing them the right way. We invest in our associates as they invest in us, and as we move forward, we make a point of giving back, supporting communities around us through ambitious philanthropic efforts and involvement programs. We are a company that cares, and our culture is one of integrity and teamwork where together we become greater than the sum of our parts.

Congratulations to all 84 of our amazing athletes who competed in Paris these past two weeks! From celebrating Coco Gauff’s selection as a U.S. flag bearer, to hosting global associate watch parties, and welcoming our retailers and athlete families and friends at our hospitality center in the City of Light, we made the most of every minute of this extraordinary athletic and cultural event. It was inspiring to see American Gabby Thomas show the world her talents with three gold medals in the 200m, 4X100m and 4X400m. And, to see American Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone continue to dominate on the track by winning gold and beating her own world record (for the 6th time!) in the 400m hurdles, then leading the U.S. 4X400m team to gold and a national record. Dutch runner Femke Bol continued to demonstrate her brilliance and took home 3 medals including gold as anchor for the mixed 4X400m relay, while Britain’s Alex Yee won gold in the triathlon in one of the most exciting finishes – just some of the many thrilling performances that inspired us and drove our OneNB pride to its highest level this summer! #OneNB New Balance

At New Balance, we take a lot of pride in developing talent from within and believe career development is more than climbing a ladder. There are multi-directional and non-linear paths for associates to grow. When associates feel empowered to own their career path, performance and satisfaction thrive. We celebrate associates who have championed and supported internal growth by changing teams, departments and locations at New Balance. Emma S., a Retail Regional Manager for the U.K. and Ireland, began her journey with us in 2016. Throughout Emma’s career journey, which spanned three managerial roles in our retail division, she focused on taking on new challenges, utilizing New Balance’s career development tools and expanding her internal network. By partnering with our marathon team, she built her confidence in large-scale project management and made connections with associates across the business. “I have completed a lot of opportunities within New Balance, and I am grateful for the position I am in today with the brand,” said Emma, who regularly attends virtual skill-building courses. As part of our commitment to continuous learning, internal mobility and skill-based advancement, our Global Talent team recently launched a refreshed suite of career development tools. “We have an incredible team that supports us as individuals and allows us to grow and show our strengths.” Interested in growing your career at New Balance? Thank you to Sara Eisen and David Faber from CNBC today for discussing our brand’s exciting new partnership with the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association). Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of sport and empower female athletes.    New Balance athlete and Los Angeles Sparks rookie forward Cameron Brink will be at the forefront of our work with the WNBA. She is an incredible athlete who is transcending women’s basketball and inspiring young players to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams on and off the court.   This relationship is a noteworthy progression of New Balance’s commitment to driving youth and community engagement in global sport across basketball, soccer, baseball, football and running, and comes at the perfect time. We’re proud to showcase our world-class athletes and product innovation during what is clearly a big summer for sport!   The strength of our brand momentum and market share gains – fueled by our OneNB team culture and relentless focus on innovation and operational excellence – has positioned us well heading into the back-to-school season.
