The 2024 edition of Ontario Made's Manufacturing Day webinar was filled with very interesting presentations and discussions. Missed the live event? Here’s a quick recap: Minister Victor Fedeli announced the release of the final report from Ontario’s Advanced Manufacturing Council that CME President & CEO, Dennis Darby P.Eng., ICD.D, was a part of. Learn more about the Council’s work here: https://lnkd.in/g_cRdGRa. CME's Chief Economist Alan Arcand gave a manufacturing economic outlook and left attendees with a concluding thought: “Good news is that investment is picking up in Ontario - we hopefully can shrink this deficit going forward.” Ray Minato from Inertia Product Development spoke on the value of local supply chains, reminding us to consider both visible and hidden costs, particularly focusing on the "total cost of acquisition" for stronger supplier relationships. In an engaging conversation moderated by Rob Renaud, SIOR, CRE Leader from ENCOR Advisors, Jackie Korecki and Sunita Chander from Supply Ontario discussed how procurement policies can better engage the local manufacturing community and improve accessibility for suppliers through more streamlined processes. We look forward to strengthening Ontario's manufacturing sector together.
