The Enviromental Law Conference at Yosemite was a hit! Thank you planning committee co-chairs, Peter Ton, Verne Ball, and Marisa Choy for joining me to plan the conference. You all did an excellent job and I already miss our weekly meetings. A few additions made the conference extra special. For instance, Mad Science taught by my daughter, Erin Akens, and assisted by Peter Ton’s daughter, Oona Ton, was at the conference this year as an option for parents to send their kiddos during the breakout sessions and during the Saturday evening banquet. The author’s corner was a wonderful addition and the afternoon sessions with Professor Lazarus and Senator Henry Stern were dynamite! I left the conference feeling informed, inspired, and reinvigorated. I cannot imagine a better area of practice than environmental law. Environmental Law Section of the California Lawyers Association
