🌟 Always a pleasure to be part of the development of novel therapeutic approaches! EXTEND, one of Evotec’s BRIDGEs, has announced the activation of the first tranche of investment to the KOZAKS project - a groundbreaking gene editing platform aimed at treating haploinsufficiency-driven diseases. This innovative platform, developed by the team led by Prof. Alessandro Quattrone, Professor at the Department of Cellular, Computational, and Integrative Biology (CIBIO) at the University of Trento, has the potential of addressing several diseases with high unmet medical needs. 🌟New project joining the growing EXTEND’s portfolio!🌟 We are thrilled to announce the approval of the first tranche of investment for the KOZAKS project which involves an innovative gene editing-based platform to treat haploinsufficiency-driven diseases. The platform has been developed by the team led by Prof. Alessandro Quattrone, Professor at the Department of Cellular, Computational, and Integrative Biology (CIBIO) of the Università di Trento. “Over the past five years, we have been working to solve a major challenge in gene editing: the need to develop therapeutic strategies tailored to specific mutations in each disease. Our innovative KOZAKS approach leverages a universal principle to enhance protein production, offering a potential solution for over 400 rare diseases caused by protein insufficiency. Together with my talented young colleagues, we are now ready to harness the full potential of this strategy. The EXTEND model provides the perfect platform to bring this vision to life.” - Prof. Alessandro Quattrone Keep following and learn more about this project by visiting the website - https://lnkd.in/d8FHJeXA
