On August 14th 2024, The Swiss Federal Council published their decision (https://lnkd.in/efH2qU2z) to add the U.S to the list of countries with an adequate level of data protection. With this decision, U.S companies can now streamline data transfers between the EU, U.K and Switzerland under the Data Privacy Framework Program (DPF Program) administered by the International Trade Administration. The DPF Program provides an easy-to-use transfer mechanism that complies with GDPR requirements for data transferred to countries outside of the EU. It is open to U.S based companies who have an independent recourse mechanism (IRM) in place (like BBB National Programs) and transfer personal data from the EU,U.K or Switzerland to the U.S. As the longest running IRM, BBB National Programs has over 20 years of experience helping businesses navigate their data transfer needs and achieving privacy compliance standards.
