  • The Technical Engineering Services team are an integral part of the Marine Fuel Specialties business. The team of eight Engineers and Marine Engineers have made ship visits to over 50 worldwide ports, assessing and setting up field trials, commissioning dosing systems, and training crews on the use of our products. Our team has an unparalleled knowledge of onboard marine fuel dosing, and it’s great to be on our clients’ vessels while they are docked to support them. Some clients prefer to manually dose our fuel additive technology, but today our latest generation of automated dosing systems are in demand. We can now connect them to the vessels performance data feed, allowing ship managers to monitor the dosing, feed rates, and product remaining on board from shoreside. Interesting insights from Joshua Townley at the Maritime Decarbonisation conference last month on the increasing use of biofuels in the Shipping industry. With a net zero emissions target by 2050 for the Shipping industry the development of biofuels is crucial. Joshua covered the characteristics, stability, cold temperature operability and storge in his presentation. Innospec Fuel Specialties has many years’ experience in the use of FAME in road transportation and draws upon that technical and formulation experience to support fleet performance in the Shipping industry. • In 2023, we started to measure the impact our products have on the environment through life cycle (LCA) and product carbon footprint (PCF) assessments. Our ‘cradle-to-gate’ approach measures the greenhouse gas emissions associated with our Fuel Specialties products, from raw material extraction and transportation, through the manufacturing process of our final products, up to leaving our Innospec site gates. The assessments provide greater visibility and understanding at each level of the calculations, helping us to identify opportunities to reduce associated emissions and our customers’ carbon footprint. Darcy Kelly, our Life Cycle Assessment Engineer explains, “We cannot mitigate what we do not measure, so these assessments allow us to make informed decisions on how best to limit our impact on the environment”. We have been reporting on our sustainability strategy for over 25 years and this year’s report highlights some success stories around our approach to sustainability. We invite you to explore more of our achievements and ongoing dedication to our sustainability strategy, visit https://lnkd.in/ep3TGVa and download the report. #InnospecFuelSpecialties #Sustainability #ReducingOurCarbonFootprint #PositiveInnovativeResponsive

We are immensely proud of our Innospec Cares program and the significant impact that it has on our local communities. Entering its eighth year we have now raised over US$1.4 million and supported an incredible 434 wide-ranging community groups and charities. Our Fuel Specialties teams around the world carry out a variety of volunteering and sponsorship events, one example is our team in Greece. Three people from the Piraeus office climbed 11.5km to the top of Taygetos mountain at 2405m to raise money for the Hellenic Rescue Team. The charity provides rescue services in the event of natural disasters like floods and other emergencies. Innospec Hellas team instigated the idea and Dimitris Dimitriou was joined by Lefteris Capatos (L) and Marinos Koulis (R) to do the climb. Dimitris said, “The Innospec Cares program not only raises money for great causes but also helps you realize a goal that you have set, and then team build with colleagues - it was amazing stepping on the top of this iconic mountain as a team”. You can see more of our 2023 volunteering and sponsorship activities in our Sustainability Report, go to https://lnkd.in/ep3TGVa and download the report.
