Here are the 2024-25 Office for Research Technology Transfer Trainees! 🤗 These 15 Rutgers postdocs, graduate students, and Master of Business and Science (MBS) students will gain valuable experience in Intellectual Property Law, Marketing & Business Development, and Academic Technology Transfer. They will learn the ins and outs of the exciting world of #techtransfer with hands-on experience, including: ✅ Protecting and commercializing the results of scientific research, ✅ Evaluating an Invention Disclosure, ✅ Preparing Non‐Confidential Summaries, ✅ Engaging with prospective licensees ✅ Learning about the agreements that govern Technology Transfer in an academic institution. 👏👏 to our executive director of Research Financial Services Lamar K. Oglesby, who has been chosen as the Regionally Elected Member to the National Board of the NCURA! Lamar, who has previously served as the chair of the NCURA Region II board, will take on this new role beginning January 1, 2025. Region II is the Mid-Atlantic section of NCURA: National Council of University Research Administrators, a non-profit professional society dedicated to advancing the profession of research administration through education and professional development programs, the sharing of knowledge and experiences, and the fostering of a diverse, collegial, and respected global community. For the third-straight year, two Rutgers University research teams will be receiving Edison Patent Awards at the Research & Development Council of NJ annual event! The team of G. Charles Dismukes, Anders B. Laursen, Karin Calvinho, and Martha Greenblatt will take home the Industrial Processes award, while Abraham Pinter and Alok Choudhary will receive the Medical Diagnostics award.
