This week, have a look at Pillar 2️⃣: « #Stakeholders engagement » 🎯 This Pillar aims to ensure that all the stakeholders, and especially citizens, are involved in water #governance solutions, considering all the WEFE+H sectors (water, energy, food, ecosystems, health). ✔️ InnWater has worked on a review of #EU-wide #citizenengagement, as well as on an InnWater Citizen Engagement Methodology, which has been shared with the different Pilot Sites. ➡️ Next step will include the refining of the Citizen Engagement method for each of the Pilot Sites. #innovation #EUResearchArea #euproject #water #HorizonEU #WaterManagement 

Let’s start the review of InnWater’s achievements at the #halfway stage, with Pillar 1️⃣: “Improved water governance assessment framework”.   🎯 This Pillar aims at assessing current #governance approaches and organisational models, at different #scales, and setting best practices for organizational models and approaches. ✔️ InnWater has worked on an enhanced Water Governance Assessment Tool, which has been tested in PS#1 Ile de #LaRéunion (FR) and PS#4 #Westcountry (UK). ➡️ Next step will be to : -continue testing the tool -launch a Reference #Guide for Programming, providing water managers and #practitioners with structured and concise information and guidance to support governance-related actions. 💦 #Innovative Water #Pricing Model presented at Crédit Agricole La Réunion.   On October 1, 2024 🗣️ Michel Paul, from the Université de La Réunion, presented the groundbreaking micro-simulation #model (MSM), developped as part of InnWater, to around 30 executives from the Crédit Agricole bank of La Réunion.   The presentation was focusing on the crucial #question: "What is the right #price for #water?"   👉 Key #highlights of the presentation: • Overview of water and #sanitation services pricing • Challenges in implementing progressive block #tariffs in La Réunion • Architecture of the MSM and key #financing quality indicators • Future #developments, including integration with a computable general equilibrium model for #WEFE Nexus analysis.   This event showcases InnWater's commitment to developing #economic tools for #sustainable water management. 📈 #WaterManagement #Sustainability #EconomicModeling #SocialInnovation

It is great to see #water being highlighted on the agenda of the new European Commission. GOVAQUA, InnWater and RETOUCH NEXUS projects with their Water Europe member organisations are actively working on innovative #watergovernance instruments, approaches and arrangements to enhance #wateresilience in Europe. #CitizenScience 👥 involving non-professional scientists in research, is a powerful tool for #environmental monitoring and water quality management. 📰 The 7️⃣ th #InnWaterArticle gives a definition and examples where citizen science fosters community #cohesion, enhances #collective understanding of environmental issues, and allow targeted and effective #water management strategies. A focus is also made on how the Westcountry Rivers Trust will expand their own Citizen Science scheme. 🎥InnWater interviews 🎥 For this 2️⃣ nd video of the series, Gilles Hubert, vice-President of La Réunion Departement and Deputy Chairman of #LaRéunion Water Agency, shared some examples of investments made to finance major water infrastructures in the island.
