As we look back on K-State Extension and Engagement Week, we celebrate the essential role Extension plays in the K-State mission as a land-grant university. Extension leads engagement and community outreach across the state. Each of the 105 counties in Kansas contains an Extension office where you can find agents who provide expert information and programming free of charge. Our Extension agents work to bring the knowledge provided by our research to the people of Kansas. We are proud to play a role in the state Extension system and grateful for the work of our Extension agents and specialists. The week's discussions during the Extension annual conference focused on eight key issues: water, childcare, adult leadership, hunger-free Kansas, rural health, higher education access, broadband access and housing. It’s Transfer Week, and we’re excited to spotlight students who have joined the K-State family on their college journeys. First, meet Jania Don Juan-Ramos from Johnson City, Kansas, who transferred from Garden City Community College and is now majoring in Agricultural and Natural Resources Communications. Jania describes her transfer experience as seamless, thanks to the supportive professors at K-State. Registration is now open for the Agricultural Leadership Program (ALP). This new training program is open to all K-State students and is a requirement for newly selected Ag Ambassadors.
