Here it is... our Regulatory Week in Review by MarketReady Insights! Enjoy our top five tales selected to inspire you. 1) FDA issued a TON (19) of Warning Letters in the last week. The good news, most (12) were issued from the Center for Tobacco Products. Only one Warning Letter is related to food and dietary supplements. 2) On 9/10/2024, FDA issued a warning letter to a CBD company for "illegally selling" cannabidiol (CBD), CBG, and CBN for pets and people. It looks like they were also making some potentially egregious health claim. Some of these claims were called "unproven claims" in the press release issued by the FDA. 3) There is a new food outbreak related to eggs. As of September 6, the FDA reported 65 people were infected with a strain of Salmonella. The trackback source has been identified and they are conducting a voluntary recall. 4) The FDA will be holding the 14th Annual Global Summit on Regulatory Science on 9/19/2024. This free event is an in-person event will be held in Little Rock, AL. Speakers include Dr. Rober Califf, FDA Commissioner, Dr. Patterson, Director at the National Center for Toxicological Research, and Dr. Tong, Director of Division of Bioinformatics and Biostatics. 5) Bi-Annual Food Facility (re)Registration is coming up (Oct 1 to Dec 31)! Watch for more MRI news and tips/tricks. This applies to EVERYONE! You MUST (re)register on the even years during the registration period identified.
