It was an honor to represent Naval STEM with Randall Lewis during the DoD STEM session yesterday. Proud to work with STEM advocates across the DoD to inspire young people to pursue STEM and DoD careers.

The STEM Learning Ecosystems 2024 Convening, “Acess in Action”, was a great opportunity to meet and discuss collaboration opportunities with STEM ecosystems across the Nation. It was inspiring to learn what initiatives are sparking interest in STEM to traditionally underepreseted communities. And thanks to Naval STEM for showing me a way to align 3D printing pens to Naval application- I can’t wait to build a #SeaworthySTEM activity using these!

This week, DoD STEM is joining TIES Teaching Institute for Excellence in STEM at the 2024 STEM Learning Ecosystems Community of Practice (SLECoP) convening in Chicago to build partnerships that enhance STEM education and workforce development. Dr. Jagadeesh Pamulapati, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Science and Technology (S&T) Foundations in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), made opening remarks and joined a panel discussion on how emerging technologies and innovation can create accessible futures for all learners. Representatives from Air & Space STEM Outreach, the Defense STEM Education Consortium, U.S. Army DEVCOM Army Research Laboratory, Office of Naval Research, Naval STEM, and SMART Scholarship will showcase the many STEM resources and opportunities available through the Department of Defense. The STEM Learning Ecosystems Community of Practice includes over 114 communities worldwide, all focused on creating strong partnerships to ensure that all young people have access to quality STEM learning experiences.
