On Oct. 22, Public Works Department (PWD) Fort Worth participated in the Energy Awareness Action Fair held at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) Fort Worth 💡✨ With October being Energy Awareness Action Month, there was no better time to share energy and water conservation tips. Congratulations to our Command Information Office (CIO) superstars! 🎉 Amelia "Chris" Martinear, Kevin "Scott" Watson and Brandon Fields were each presented the Civilian Service Achievement Medal by NAVFAC SE Operations Officer Capt. McCain on Oct. 17, 2024 🏅 They were recognized for their incredible work for CIO3 Mobile Device Support from Feb. 2024 - July 2024, led by Martinear. The team provided critical support for Mobile GIS technology that enables the Navy to rapidly capture accurate geospatial field data in a secure environment. 👏 🖥 The telecommunications team's expertise was vital in setting up 20 NMCI-supported tablets for installation and FEC GIS staff during a regional training event and establishing procedures that are being implemented across the Navy enterprise. #NAVFACProud Outstanding work and achievements, Martinear, Watson and Fields! 🙌 #TeamNAVFAC #NAVFACSE #NAVFACSoutheast #CIO3

Rear Adm. Jorge Cuadros, the new commander of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Atlantic, recently visited Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune to review the progress of Military Construction Projects for OICC Florence. OICC Florence is in its fifth and final year. OICC Florence was stood up in 2020, a five-year command tasked with administering a $3.2 billion-dollar budget to repair and replace the military infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Florence. Successful collaboration with MCI-East and contracting partners, OICC Florence has completed 80 percent of the planned projects. OICC staff and leaders enjoyed showing the Rear Adm. around multiple sites throughout Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and New River, Camp Johnson and Camp Lejeune. Image 1 – 6: Eddie Valdivieso, construction manager for OICC Florence, and members of RQ-WM Jordan contracting team, brief RDML Cuadros about P1512F. The P1512F is a project supporting new construction of a 147,565 square-foot school facility on Camp Johnson and renovation of some existing structures to support Marine Corps Combat Service Support School Logistics Operations School. Included in the new facility will be high-bay vehicle training spaces, classrooms, labs and administrative support spaces. Image 7 – 10: Construction Manager Lieut. Daniel Hulse and construction partners from RQ Construction, met with RDML Cuadros for a visit to P1522F and P1529F on Camp Lejeune. Both projects are nearing completion, with expected completion winter of 2024. 22nd and 24th Marine Expeditionary Units will have replacement Headquarters Buildings, and 26th MEU will have a new HQ and Expeditionary Operations Facility.
