Congratulations to our general manager, James, who was presented with a Growth and Business Strategy Award of the Year 2024/25 at South Staffordshire Plc’s Group Leadership Conference last week. The award recognises James’ hard work in growing OnSite Rail. 📈 What began as a team of three people ten years ago, is now a team of over 110 people today. We have just completed the removal of a steel cage liner that was installed over 12 years ago, as part of a crossrail project alongside Bond Street tube station. The installation consisted of 100m of steel cage with rubber matting to protect the sewer while the tunnel boring machine was tunnelling under it. The team had to move approx. 20 tonnes of grout first which had leaked into the sewer and over a section of the steel cage. This was a high-risk sewer entry as it was an overflow sewer, and upstream monitoring was in place watching the flows. The work was completed safely and on time. We were recently back in Long Marston completing some repair works to a failed retaining wall running off the parapet of Long Marston overbridge. A design was created by our client, Balfour Beatty plc, on behalf of Network Rail, to retain the road and embankment by installing 14no sheet piles backfilled with no fines concrete. We had specialist assistance from Sheet Piling (UK) Limited to undertake the piling element of the job under our planning and management. Our full scope of work included: ⚒️De-veg prep works. ⚒️Installation of temporary works platform. ⚒️Installation of 14no sheet piles with capping beam and jet filters. ⚒️Removal of old failed block wall and handrail. ⚒️Installation temporary formwork and pour no fines concrete behind sheet piles, which we carried over the top of the existing gabion baskets which were left in-situ. ⚒️Installation of new galvanised handrail. ⚒️Reinstated existing timber railing, tying into existing mesh fence. ⚒️The area was finished off with new topsoil A road closure was set in place for three weeks to allow us to complete the job, however, work was completed, and road was open to traffic in just two weeks. #Rail #RailRepair #RailIndustry #Professional #Trusted David Creasey James Sargeant Claudia Philps Darrel Anthony

Check out this transformation! ✨ Northwestern Rail tasked our project team with replacing a set of dangerous access steps at Poundbury Lane, Dorchester. The steps had to fit into the restricted space between the road and foot bridge, this resulted in us adjusting the steps to fit in between the bridges. The team completed all necessary devegetation works to carry out the appropriate and professional install. Once the steps were installed, we laid root guard under the structure and replaced the access gate. We were recently tasked with working on a culvert civils scheme at Nortoft Farm, Warwickshire. The works involved pipe ramming approximately 21m of 457mm ID steel casings through the existing brick culvert. Originally, we were only required to ram 9.1m but a structural survey post-ramming showed further defects down the run and therefore the scope was amended to install the casing for the full length of the culvert. Despite the scope changing, we managed to get the new remit approved within 4 hours of finding the further defects. We adapted our programme by standing down our works until the required number of casings were available and collected. The casings were installed in 1m lengths that were then spot welded. After the ramming works were completed, we carried out jetting and surveying of the culvert before installing UV lining through the new bore and grouting around the annulus. We were back on track to finish the work as planned which saved the client a week’s additional landowners, trackway and welfare costs. #CulvertMaintenance #CCTVSurvey #UVLining #Professional #Trusted
