Mostly you know us as the non-profit that comes into your business, college, or other organization to remove decomissioned computer equipment however we are taking this opportunity to collect household computers and other electronics. PCs for People Illinois is ready to refurbish your old computers and distribute them to low-income individuals and families. This option is even better than recycling as you're extending the useful life of these items—a win-win for the environment and folks who need them! Below is a list of items we will be collecting. Be prepared to take home anything that's not listed below. About us
PCs for People Illinois has been working to close the digital divide in Cook County and the surrounding areas through our e-recycling and refurbishing center in Oak Forest, IL, since 2021. More than 40% of people without internet access in Illinois live in Cook County. We provide a secure and sustainable opportunity for businesses to recycle their retired devices for free and with a positive impact on the community.

The Joyce Foundation supports the development of policies that improve the quality of life for people in the Great Lakes region. They focus on today’s most pressing problems while also informing the public policy decisions critical to creating opportunity and achieving long-term solutions.
