As factories become more and more #autonomous, the risk of incidents between machines, workers, and #robots is increasing. 🤖⚠ This poses a serious safety challenge for humans that our teams are working hard to address. Most autonomous mobile robots can adapt their routes based on their surroundings. However, not all can safely adjust their speed. Therefore, specialized safety encoders are often needed, which can be complex and may not fit the mobile robot. 💡 With a new software-based approach we bridge the gap between IT and OT systems. It ensures compatibility with all mobile robots and their components, reducing energy use, eliminating the need for extra hardware, and coming with safety certification - meaning greater control and lower costs. ✅ By seamlessly integrating IT and OT, we're developing solutions that keep workers protected and production running smoothly in the autonomous factory of the future. #AutonomousFactory #AMR #ITOTIntegration

It’s not every day you get to meet Bill Gates and share your passion for your work. Our colleague Velia Janetzky had this incredible opportunity alongside Siemens CEO Roland Busch. She showcased how a real-time #DigitalTwin of a robot allows us to jump back in time and use data for real-world troubleshooting. 🚀🤖 Velia is leading the #IndustrialMetaverse project at our Electronics Factory in Erlangen. Her mission is to demonstrate the impact the Industrial Metaverse can have on efficiency, reliabilty and sustainability. Underlining these efforts, the Erlangen factory has just been recognized as a Lighthouse Factory by the World Economic Forum. 🌍🏭 Check out the comments to find an interview with Velia and learn more! 👇

Thank you Bill Gates for the inspiring conversation on the power of innovation and partnerships to tackle global challenges like climate change. We both feel optimistic that #technology can transform our industries and decarbonize economies, but time is of the essence. We need to scale clean technologies much faster and for this we need strong partnerships and the right policies. That's why I'm excited that Siemens is already working with several innovative climate technology companies from the Breakthrough Energy portfolio and exploring opportunities to strengthen this partnership across our global buildings footprint.  Breakthrough Energy Siemens #TransformTheEveryday

#AI is not trustworthy” - that's what almost 40% of manufacturing companies think.* 😮 We understand where this perception is coming from and know that AI must meet the rigorous requirements and standards of the most demanding industrial environments. It needs to be more reliable, secure and more user-friendly. In short: AI in industry must be industrial-grade. Together with a wide #ecosystem of partners from various industries and academia, we've made it our mission to advance AI and make it industry-ready. Swipe below to see how we're tackling it - driven by three non-negotiable values. *Source: Gartner Curious to learn more? Tea is one of the world’s oldest and most popular drinks. China, presumed to be the birthplace of tea. 🍵 Xiao Guan Tea honors this tradition while seeking to transform it. “We wanted to leverage the power of technology to help the tea industry break free from the constraints of traditional workshop production,” says Han Meng, production director at Xiao Guan Tea. Our consultants created a blueprint for digitally integrating the product lifecycle, order delivery, digital factory lifecycle, and production lines. The two companies then jointly developed the manufacturing execution system (MES). “We can collect and manage information throughout the entire production process, from order to delivery, and seamlessly integrate enterprise resource planning and warehouse management systems,” Siemens China’s Digital Business Architect Cui Ruiqian explains. “We integrated #ITOT, highly improving #production and management efficiency.” 📈 As the first intelligent tea factory in China, Xiao Guan Tea’s facilities incorporates industrial R&D, testing, inspection methods, and advanced production and storage solutions, like #AI-assisted robots. 🤖 “We are turning the traditional art of tea making into a science. That’s how we can meet the demands of today’s consumer markets and secure a place on the world stage,” says Du Guoying, founder of Xiao Guan Tea. ✨
