Yesterday, our WFD hub lead, Mitch Hobson, Ed.S., shared the incredible successes we’ve had in year one of our hub’s Workforce Development (WFD) initiatives. Mitch highlighted how we’ve been able to make significant strides in equipping our region with the talent needed for future advancements in microelectronics. Looking ahead, the future holds even more exciting opportunities as we continue to expand our training programs, collaborate with key partners, and prepare our workforce to meet the growing demands of the industry. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, and I’m eager to see what’s next for our hub as we continue to lead the charge in workforce development!

It was an honor to hear from Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen H. Hicks highlight the impact of the Silicon Crossroads hub today! Her recognition of the collaborative innovation happening across our partner universities underscores the importance of trusted environments in accelerating progress in microelectronics. As she mentioned: “… at the Silicon Crossroads hub, all four of those universities are benefitting from a trusted environment that’s fostering collaborative innovation — creating a unified research and prototyping capability where they’re accelerating their unique nanofabrication and test facilities for industry to access.” This acknowledgment reinforces the critical work we’re doing to support industry access to cutting-edge technologies while driving forward national security and technological leadership. Exciting times ahead! https://lnkd.in/g3uptT8n

Great to see industry leaders like HII being awarded for their work under the CHIPS and Science Act!
Good things come in small packages. It doesn't take hundreds of millions of dollars to be awesome. Almost 15 years ago we had an idea. That quickly turned into a challenge; chase the toughest work out there, to give some of the best there is an opportunity, and a means to get better. This kind of hard work ain't for everyone; it is for us however. If you're into rolling your sleeves up, and being encouraged to impress yourself, this is the place for you. Some truly remarkable people were behind this one too. Tom Eckenrode Jason Hull, PMP Brian Furgala Matt Britton charles Kryzak heck of a job. Purdue University NHanced Semiconductors, Inc. Marvell Technology ARI (Applied Research Institute) let's get after it. PS. more to follow...soon 😉
