Women continue to be underrepresented in leadership positions and often face roadblocks to career advancement. Based on the University's experience of preparing women to lead and influence for more than a century, St. Kate’s MBA is tailored for women and addresses their unique challenges. Focused on collaboration over competition, our online MBA provides women the opportunity to have their voice heard, share ideas, and become confident leaders. Thanks to St. Kate’s partnerships with local businesses, MBA students work on real-world projects and complete a capstone course, working in teams to develop business plans for actual clients.   • School of Business, professors from Japan exchange knowledge about women’s institutions An email to Dean Anupama Pasricha, Ph.D., led to a fruitful visit from Professors Keiko Takahashi and Ayako Kuramoto in August. It is incredible how one email can create new partnerships and open up a whole new world. In July, Anupama Pasricha, PhD, dean of the School of Business, opened an email from a professor in Japan requesting a visit to learn about what St. Catherine University was doing in the areas of leadership, personal finance, programs empowering women, and any challenges St. Kate’s may experience as a women's university. Fast forward to August 27, as the School of Business welcomed Professor Keiko Takahashi of Jissen Women’s University and Professor Ayako Kuramoto of Seinan Gakuin University to our beautiful campus. Throughout the day, via a curated agenda, St. Kate’s faculty and staff members across offices and departments shared their kindness, knowledge, and experience in various areas that included: •School of Business / Katie Leadership Impact •Money Management Center •Real-world economics  •Scholarly engagement •Center for Intercultural Development •Leadership in athletics

  • Business student Emmie Kai Verhaagh '25 receives Delta Mu Delta award St. Catherine University - School of Business is pleased to announce that Emmie Kai Verhaagh ’25 is the 2024 recipient of the Pat and Tony Jablonsky Award from Delta Mu Delta (DMD). The award is one of up to 52 available scholarships given by DMD annually to outstanding business students and includes a $3,000 scholarship, an award letter, and a certificate. Delta Mu Delta is an international honor society in business that recognizes the academic distinction of undergraduate and graduate students at select colleges and universities by acknowledging the achievement of its members who support and strengthen the communities they serve. The scholarship program is one of the honor society's benefits, and this year, DMD had up to $74,000 to award to DMD members, with awards ranging from $500 to $3,000.   • Faculty Spotlight: Sharon Radd (she, her, hers) We are proud to celebrate the recent achievements of Dr. Sharon Radd, whose work continues to make an impact in educational leadership and equity. Here are some highlights: Book Recognition: Five Practices for Equity-Focused School Leadership was named one of the Five Best Books for Educators to Understand Equity-Focused School Reform by Dr. Decoteau Irby and Shepherd Books in June 2023. Research Presentations: •Lessons for Leadership: An Autoethnographic Consideration of "Hard Re-sets", presented at the University Council on Education Administration Annual Meeting, Minneapolis, MN, 2023. •Leader Development to Address Racial Inequities, presented at the International Conference on Educational Leadership & Management, Jamaica, 2023. Speaking Invitations: •Equity-Focused Leadership: Keeping it Moving in These Times, keynote at the University of Louisville Doctoral Equity Summer, Dec 2023. •The Stories We Tell: Improving Paradigms to Increase Educational Equity, presented at the Teacher’s College/Columbia University FORGE Workshop, July 2023. Grant: Awarded the 2023 Sister Antonine O’Brien Award for Foreign Study, St. Catherine University, for planning an MAOL Multi-disciplinary Study Abroad Course to the Balkans.
