Experience The Traverse! Our next Montana Traverse is from 13-16 September 2024, and there are five spots remaining! This is a world-class leadership expedition! A recent Harvard Business Review article written by Christopher G Myers and Mike Doyle discussed four attributes of leadership that are organic in wilderness adventure expeditions that could richly benefit leaders in a corporate environment. At Azimuth Consulting Group, LLC, we couldn't agree more! That's why we created The Traverse. As retired US Army Special Forces soldiers, we know that individuals and teams will benefit from navigating the interpersonal and physical challenges that result while trekking through the wilderness. We know because we have logged countless hours patrolling through the mountains, deserts, swamps... lots and lots of hours. Both in a training and combat environment. And, in hindsight, we know how extraordinarily beneficial those experiences were. Myers and Doyle's second critical component that a wilderness experience can provide is purposeful preparation. The Traverse will find you traversing on snow, maybe even on snowshoes, crossing rivers, and climbing mountains. You will be managing risk, navigating your team's physical exertion, and learning about communicating intent in an ambiguous environment. From reviewing your packing list to deciding only those essential things you want to carry in your pack, all point toward preparation and intentionality.
