Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of high school students from Morton East at our Chicago office. They received insightful presentations from our associates on Wipfli’s culture, career growth, and potential internship opportunities during college as well as deep dives into tax, audit, and consulting. The students also enjoyed a tour of our office and stayed for a networking lunch with the entire team. 🌟 Celebrating Melissa’s Journey at Wipfli! 🌟 Melissa Klade’s career is a shining example of growth, mentorship, and dedication. Starting as an HR assistant in 1998 to becoming the Director of Total Rewards & HR Systems, Melissa embodies a true passion for development. Her journey at Wipfli began in a small office, working closely with the HR director. Here, spontaneous conversations and invaluable support were pivotal. This environment inspired her to pursue an MBA, funded by Wipfli, and even allowed her to work from home one day a week for better work-life balance—long before it became common practice. Through this mentorship, Melissa explored various facets of HR and discovered her passion for people and analytics. Over the last 26 years, Melissa has continued to thrive with ongoing support from mentors and by fully leveraging Wipfli’s internal training and development opportunities. “Wipfli has provided me with incredible internal training and development opportunities that I find valuable both personally and professionally." Her advice for career growth includes owning your development, being flexible with your path, focusing on experiences over titles or salaries, and prioritizing cultural fit in any job change. Outside of work, Melissa has been married to her husband, Robin, for 28 years. They have two boys, Trevor and Travis, and two dogs, Zoey and Chloe, who often join her meetings and bring many laughs.
