  • 📢 We are thrilled to share that Tony Iannelli and Flo Scott are the co-hosts for Path to Public Service on Wednesday, October 2 at Homewood Suites Center Valley for a special taping of Business Matters!   Tony Iannelli is the President and CEO of the Lehigh Valley Chamber. Under his leadership, has grown The Chamber from 700 members to over 4000 members. The Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce is now the sixth-largest Chamber of Commerce in the United States of America. Like many Chamber Presidents, Tony is heavily invested in his community and prides himself on his involvement in the Greater Lehigh Valley. Tony is visible in media outlets across the Lehigh Valley. For 20 years, Tony has hosted the Emmy-nominated Business Matters, reaching over 2.7 million households. He is also a recurring personality on iHeartRadio and a featured columnist for The Morning Call.   Flo Scott is a Communications Director at PNC Bank, where she leads the company’s Issues Management and Corporate Reputation team. A California native from a Filipino and Samoan family, Flo has lived and worked in the Lehigh Valley for more than a decade. She has been a WBC board member since 2018 and took a three-year hiatus to serve as the Director of Communications at Philadelphia International Airport. She is passionate about advocating for women in business and preparing the workforce for future transformation.   • 📢 We are thrilled to share that Anna Thomas will be on the Her Path to Public Service Panel on Wednesday, October 2 at Homewood Suites Center Valley for a special taping of Business Matters!   Anna is running for State Representative to ensure thriving communities and high quality of life for Lehigh Valley residents. Born and raised in Bethlehem Township, Anna Thomas grew up in a family of immigrants from Malaysia and India. She was shaped by her family’s Christian faith, devotion to serving others, and emphasis on contributing to our Lehigh Valley community. In high school, she was invited serve on the Bethlehem Area School Board as a student representative. After graduating from Freedom High School, Anna received her degree in chemistry from Wellesley College, where she was on the NCAA rowing team. While earning her Master of Public Administration (MPA) at University of Pennsylvania, Anna completed her thesis in partnership with the Philadelphia Police Department in support of their Crime Prevention and Violence Reduction Plan. While at Penn, she also took part in a climate fellowship and completed a capstone project on carbon capture, researching the expansion of American energy production while still reducing environmental impact. Anna knows that communities have complex issues that require solutions that balance individual, community, economic, and environmental needs.   • 📢 We are thrilled to share that Maraleen Shields, Esq. will be on the Her Path to Public Service Panel on Wednesday, October 2 at Homewood Suites Center Valley for a special taping of Business Matters!   Attorney Maraleen Shields is the Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Interbranch Commission for Gender, Racial, and Ethnic Fairness. As Executive Director, she directs the implementation of the recommendations contained in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Committee’s 2003 study on racial and gender bias in the justice system. Previously, Ms. Shields worked as a healthcare and litigation attorney with the Lehigh Valley-based Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba, P.C. She became a shareholder with the firm in 2017. She was the first person of color to make shareholder in the law firm’s 35-year history. Ms. Shields was named an Assistant Solicitor for the City of Bethlehem in 2022. Ms. Shields has been named to the PA Rising Stars list in 2008, 2010, 2012-2018 and the Pa Super Lawyers list in 2021 and 2022. Ms. Shields’s current community service includes serving as a member of the Nominations Committee of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley. She is also closely connected with her alma mater, Kenyon College, where she was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees. She is also active with the Pennsylvania Bar Association, serving as Co-Vice Chair of the Membership Development Committee and Chair of the Report Card Subcommittee of the Women in the Profession Commission.   • 📢 We are thrilled to share that Judge Melissa Pavlack will be on the Her Path to Public Service Panel on Wednesday, October 2, 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM at Homewood Suites Center Valley for a special taping of Business Matters! Judge Melissa T. Pavlack received her Doctor of Laws degree from Widener University School of Law in 1989 and was admitted to the Bar of the Pennsylvania Courts in November of 1989. After her admittance to the Bar, she completed a two-year judicial clerkship with the Superior Court of Pennsylvania working for the Honorable Donald E. Wieand. She established Pavlack Law Offices, P.C., in January 1996, and until November 2017, Judge Pavlack was a partner in Pavlack Law Offices, P.C.. Judge Pavlack has been an active member of the Family Law Sections of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Lehigh County Bar Association. She is the past Editor of the Lehigh County Bar Association Family Law Section's Newsletter and Case Law Update and served as President of the Lehigh County Family Law Section for two years. Judge Pavlack was elected Judge of the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas in November 2017. She serves in the Civil and Family Divisions of the Court and as the Administrative Judge of the Family Division.
