About this mod

The vanilla gold & silver bars in the game look bad. This mod modifies them with new meshes and textures. It also makes the vault at the Bridgeway Trust bank more immersive.

Version History:

1.4a - Improved the silver bar's texture.

1.4 - Compatibility with the Next-Gen Update. Drastically balanced the vault's loot. Added silver bars with new textures. Loot will no longer respawn.

1.3a - Fixed some minor bugs and perfected the coin's textures.

1.3 - Consolidated back to a single version and added some unique 1 oz gold coins. See explanation below. The mod now requires "Nuka-World" DLC.

1.2a - Added 2 more versions (3 total) that affect the gold value.

1.2 - Redid the textures so that gold will look like gold (cubemaps). Removed the gold stacks since they were overpowered and buggy. Increased the value of the single bars a bit.

1.1a - 400 TROY ounces equal 27.4 lbs and not 25 lbs. All weights have been fixed.

1.1 - Made the bars weigh more based on their real-life equivalent (see pic in screenshots). Naturally, this also increased their value. It will be a lot trickier to loot them all now a la Dead Money. The texture has also been updated and now reads 400oz (25 lbs) vs 1000g (2.205 lbs).

1.0 - Initial Release.

Purpose:

The vanilla gold & silver bars in the game look bad. This mod modifies them with new meshes and textures.

Also, the unmarked "Bridgeway Trust" bank in Fallout 4 is a joke. There are a couple of cheap looking gold bars and some generic loot in the safes. On top of that, the lighting in the main vault is terrible! This mod fixes that.

The bank's vault now has a decent amount of beautifully textured gold & silver bars. In addition, I've created unique items for the safes inside the vault, each with its own unique back story.

To offset the extra loot, I've added a legendary assaultron that guards the bank, in addition to the vanilla master-locked terminal. Most safes have been upgraded to master-lock level as well. Finally, the weight for each bar has been increased and also matches their textures.

How gold value is calculated:

In the vanilla game, a single gold scrap weighs 0.1 lbs. 1oz weighs 0.0685714 lbs, but since the game treats any weight below 0.1 as 0, I stuck with the 0.1 weight per gold scrap. The vanilla value of a single gold scrap is 45 caps. This was also unchanged so it won't affect gold shipments and fit with the developer's original design.

Now, a single gold unit yields 1 gold scrap which is worth 45 caps and weighs 1oz (~0.1 lbs).
A single gold coin also yields 1 gold scrap which is worth 45 caps and weighs 1oz (~0.1 lbs).
A single gold bar now yields 400 gold scraps which are worth 18,000 caps (45x400) and weighs 400oz (27.4 lbs).

How silver value is calculated:

The vanilla value of a single silver scrap is 30 caps. This was left unchanged so it won't affect silver shipments and fit with the developer's original design.

A single silver bar now yields 200 silver scraps which are worth 6,000 caps (30x200) and weighs 200oz (13.7 lbs - silver weighs around half as much as gold for the same volume).

How to use:

Unpack all files and install with Vortex. If you're on old-gen, use the .ba2 files in the optional archive instead of the ones in the main one.
