Deathclaw is a term referring to genetically engineered creatures developed by the United States military to replace humans during close-combat search-and-destroy missions. The humble Jackson's Chameleon served as the basis for the development of one of the mightiest and most terrifying creatures to ever emerge in the wastelands.



       I found the Deathclaw to look fearsome but appearances were deceiving as I easily gunned the Deathclaw down with the mini-gun towards the beginning of the game. I had plenty of ammo left over and that was on hard. This mod attempts to remedy that and restore the reputation of these legendary creatures.

There were some mods that altered them but haven't been updated in a long time. I also didn't care much for some of the changes. I find that subtle changes work better for balancing in a lot of modded scenarios, especially where modded weapons are involved.

To make matters worse, there were other requirements bundled in with the mods I really don't care for thus this mod was born. Just to be clear, I don't think those other mods are bad. They were just not aligned with my point of view.

Use this mod: Smooth first-person sprint less jerkiness and stutter Link in conjunction with the Deathclaw mod for an even better experience.


I have rebalanced and altered the Deathclaw to make them frightening as they look without going overboard or disrupting the game balance. 
The mod is available in an ESL flagged .esp file and ESL version.


Requirements:
 

You only need the base game to use this and it should have zero compatibility issues.  It should not matter where in the load order it is as this only overrides the Deathclaw files in the fallout.esm. If you use this with other Deathclaw mods, you will have to manually adjust your load order to have it override the other. 

Installation:

Use mod manager to install or download the mod, unzip, copy to your fallout 4 data folder, and activate the mod through your mod manager. 


Future updates:

The integration of rebalancing into Vault 88, and possibly ecosystem rebalancing for Nuka World DLC for anemic Gatorclaws.
