About this mod

Combat music replacer focused on droning ambience and an unsettling cacophony of ambient texture pads.

Don't forget to please endorse and leave any comments or feedback in the posts tab if you enjoy (or hate) this mod.  I love hearing from users of my work!

I'll keep things simple.  This mod just replaces combat music in-game.  You will no longer hear vanilla combat music when using this.  Digging into the mod contents you may notice that some tracks are lower file size with no audio content and that's because these are blank replacers to allow the music to fade out properly and not play when it shouldn't.

The tone or focus of this replacer is psychological thriller/horror meant to evoke a sense of degrading mental state or sanity reflecting varying levels of complexity and intensity between tracks based on whether the game deems it a high level/boss or regular combat encounter.  Many tracks are very oppressive and eerie adding to the feeling of suspense and discomfort making you want to resolve the combat encounter as quickly as possible.  Perfect for any horror or otherwise dark and gritty playthrough!

How to Install

It's 2022.  Use a mod manager to install this mod like any other (Vortex or Mod Organizer 2).

Ensure these lines are present in your Fallout4.ini file so that your game can load loose files.

Other Mods to Consider

This mod only covers combat music so I would consider installing an equally dark and suitable ambient music replacer such as the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Music Mod and its DLC addendum (load after the main mod).  You could also try out my music replacer Lost World that should pair well with this mod. Please note that if you do use another soundtrack replacer alongside this one, make sure it doesn't also cover combat music or it will most likely overwrite my combat music from this mod, regardless of load order (since these are loose files).

My other mod ScreamingLake Soundscapes pairs perfectly with this in replacing certain special music tracks, audio cues, and UI sounds to be more thematic and "flavorful".
