Fixed an issue where the carry handle glow sights were not aligned properly. Thanks to everyone who reported this issue!
Version 2.2.1
Modified Institute injection quest so that it should appear correctly on synths. Note that it will still be rare due to the somewhat inconsistent nature of synth leveled lists. REQUIRES NEW GAME TO TAKE EFFECT.
Rewrote load screen text so that it should fit into frame better.
Removed gauss charging indicators from load screen meshes.
Version 2.2
Reduced base damage from 40 to 36.
Reverted ammo type back to standard fusion cells. Instead, automatic firing modes will require electron charge packs.
Made very minor adjustments to names and descriptions on a handful of attachments.
Now offering a version that does not require Munitions. See the optional files section. Still requires the main file.
Version 2.1.1
Fixed an issue with the impact data associated with Disintegrator paint. Huge thank you to Jackthegeneral for allowing me to easily replicate the issue!
Version 2.1
Changed ammo type to use electron charge packs from Munitions.
Reverted weapon damage back to the original value of 40.
Reworked unique/legendary variants so that they can spawn with a greater variety of attachments.
Added the Troubleshooter’s legendary effect to the Wattz 3000 unique.
Added the Nimble legendary effect to the Urban Wattz unique.
Changed the Disintegrator legendary effect to Plasma Infused. If you remove the weapon skin and apply it to a different weapon, it will fire green lasers (as it did in previous versions of this mod).
Incorporated many features from ClockworkNick’s Wattz Edits mod. Check the Description for details.
Rebalanced a number of attachments.
Made the Worn Paint the new default.
Implemented custom INNR rules to reflect automatic and charging firing modes in addition to sniper barrels.
Splitter and sniper barrels now have a slower speed and longer attack delay- this is to prevent ridiculous DPS when firing Wattz scatterguns/snipers in automatic mode.
Reverted ammo capacity back to the default value of 30.
Increased AP cost from 25 to 30.
Completely new LL injection- standard Wattz guns will appear on Rust Devils, Brotherhood Scribes, Brotherhood Soldiers, Gunners, Minutemen, bosses, vendors, and as legendary drops starting at level 22. Institute Wattz guns will appear only on synths starting at level 22.
Removed RACE record ITMs from the original plugin.
Version 2.0.1
Fixed a misspelling in the Textures archive
Version 2.0
Made a huge number of balance adjustments- base damage, weight, object templates, crafting recipes, etc. Base damage was buffed to 34.
Removed "Laser" from the weapon name to make it easier to read.
Added INNR injection script to rename Wattz guns with shotgun barrels to "Scattergun".
Removed the gauss rifle charging indicator on receiver. The charging function was changed a bit so that it should now mirror the vanilla laser rifle better.
Renamed various names, descriptions, and other text strings to better match vanilla naming conventions.
Non-legendary Wattz guns now spawn with a small handful of "basic" weapon skins (Military, Worn, Civilian, and Classic). Legendary Wattz guns now spawn with a small handful of "epic" weapon skins (Military, Desert Camo, Urban Camo, Winter Camo). This is intended to give a bit of variety to legendary Wattz guns. Unique versions (Liberator, Disintegrator, etc.) were not modified. All non-unique weapon skins can still be crafted as usual.
Gave unique Wattz guns unique object templates.
Version 1.3
Added Worn Paint weapon skin - huge thanks to OunceStripes for the textures!
Reverted the name of the default weapon skin back to "Military Paint"
Modified Disintegrator so that it fires green lasers
Added Full Wooden Stock to rifle grips modcol
Tweaked Random object template so it can spawn with any receiver
Version 1.2
Added missing Power Armor animation files- thank you to Nintendostar for reporting this!
Version 1.1
Fixed a bug where the Institute Prototype unique did not have the correct skin or blue laser effect. Thanks to rayquazafallout for bringing this to my attention!
Version 1.0
Initial upload.
ABOUT An unofficial update to DeadPool2099's Wattz Laser Gun mod that contains a number of adjustments, bug fixes, tweaks, and more.
FEATURES
Renamed weapon to Wattz Gun.
Adjusted crafting recipes and perk requirements for a handful of attachments.
Adjusted (and created new) mod collections and object templates so that weapons that appear in the world are more consistent with vanilla weapons.
Balance adjustments:
Decreased base damage from 40 to 36.
Increased weight from 3.2 to 4.2.
Increased Action Point cost from 25 to 30.
Shotgun and sniper barrels had their attack speed lowered and attack delay increased so that the damage is way more balanced when using these barrels with the automatic firing mode.
Changed automatic firing mode so that it uses Electron Charge Packs from Munitions.
Incorporated OunceStripes' Wattz Laser Military Paint Retexture texture as a separate weapon paint/finish. The default Military finish was not modified and can be crafted and found on Wattz guns in the world.
Incorporated many changes from ClockworkNick's Wattz Edits mod:
Added a new fire selector option called Charging Mode that implements a hold-to-charge firing option.
Improved glow maps and glow effects on Wattz guns. This is dynamic, so the weapon lights will turn on/off when equipping and reloading.
Fixed the charging sound so that it no longer overrides the vanilla gauss rifle sound.
Brand new leveled list injection- weapon will start appearing on Brotherhood scribes, Brotherhood soldiers, Gunners, Minutemen, Rust Devils, Synths, bosses, vendors, and as legendary drops starting at level 22. Weapons found on synths will use the Institute paint/finish.
Fixed 1st person power armor footsteps issue.
Fixed an issue from the base mod where unique/legendary Wattz guns would respawn.
Added an scripted dynamic naming (INNR) rule so that Wattz guns with shotgun barrels are renamed from Rifle to Scattergun.
Removed the gauss rifle charging indicator on the receiver.
Institute weapon paint/finish now uses the Institute reflex sight material (instead of the vanilla laser gun one).
Wattz guns in the world now have a chance of spawning with a different paint/finish.
Weapon paints/skins can now be added and removed from all Wattz guns, including unique/legendary ones.
Changed the legendary effects on the unique/legendary Wattz guns and gave legendary effects to hand-placed Wattz guns that did not have them in the original mod:
Ad Victoriam: Mutant Slayer's
Disintegrator: Plasma Infused
Liberator: Kneecapper
WTZ-i06: Instigating
Wattz 3000: Troubleshooter's
Urban Wattz: Nimble
The Disintegrator weapon skin also changes the weapon to shoot green lasers when applied to a different weapon. Critical hits will produce green ash piles.
Removed the 1 damage "deactivation" on the Liberator. (This is not technically a bug, but confused a lot of users)
Undeleted and instead disabled the Institute gun where the WTZ-i06 is found.
Removed RACE record ITMs from the original plugin.
Rewrote each of the three custom load screen texts so that they fit better without running over the edge of the screen.
Adjusted a handful of names and descriptions to match the vanilla game's naming conventions.
INSTALLATION There are two plugins included with this mod- a plugin replacer for the original WattzLaserGun.esp plugin as well as my Wattz Laser Gun - Unofficial Update.esp plugin:
The plugin replacer is identical to the original, except that I removed ITMs for the Power Armor and Player RACE records.
My plugin includes all of the other changes.
Install using a mod manager such as MO2 or Vortex. Make sure to load this mod after the original. For example:
WattzLaserGun.esp
Wattz Laser Gun - Unofficial Update.esp
If you want a version without Munitions features, there is an optional file that removes that requirement. You still need to download the main file to get the archives and plugins.
You can reach out via the Posts tab if you encounter any bugs or issues. Please make sure to provide your load order and a list of steps to replicate the issue, however.
Please note that I only support the latest versions of my mods. I always recommend using the latest version of my mods for the best experience.
PERMISSIONS I make no claim of ownership to the assets from MischiefBrew0's 1st Person Power Armor Footsteps Fix, OunceStripes' Wattz Laser Military Paint Retexture, ClockworkNick's Wattz Edits, or the LL injector scripts from DankRafft. These were included only after getting direct approval from the authors. Go endorse both of the above mods and give the authors kudos for their work!
However, you are more than welcome to implement the green laser assets in any mod you wish as long as you don't put it behind a paywall.
