About this mod

This is an MWSE-powered update to Kafeid's circlets for morrowind (original mod not required) that can be worn as a 'real' helmet. Thanks to Onion, this will not cull your toon's hair or rob you of a pauldron slot. Equipping a circlet excludes you from wearing a helmet but count as being unarmored.

Kafeid's Circlets - Onionized

Hi gamers. You probably recognize this scenario: Design a beautiful mug for your toon, only to spend the entire game having it hidden underneath a 8-vertex bucket because you need the stats.

Thanks to the power of Onion , this is no longer the case. This mod is an MWSE-powered update to Kafeid's circlets for morrowind (original mod not required). It has all of the same circlets, but now they can be worn as 'real' helmets. But the circlets do not hide hair meshes nor do they take up a pauldron slot.

I wanted something that looked like it could have been part of the vanilla game all along. Circlets act as close to clothing-for-your-head as I could make it, and have the same tiers, stats and naming scheme as vanilla rings and amulets. They exclude you from wearing a helmet but count as being unarmored:  No armor rating on their own, but the unarmored bonus for an empty head slot still propagates. The circlets can of course be enchanted for additional bonuses.

MWSE-LUA IS REQUIRED. MERGING OF LEVELED LISTS IS REQUIRED.

FEATURES

  • Wearable headgear that doesn't mess up your hair
  • Circlets integrated into the game world using leveled lists
  • Balanced around vanilla amulets. 4 tiers from common to exquisite
  • Auto-balanced item statistics using MWSE. If you have some kind of balance mod that changes the power of vanilla (unenchanted) amulets, circlets are automatically adjusted alongside them.
-> This is an MWSE implementation that checks {quality}_amulet_01 items and adjusts circlet items of similar quality accordingly
  • [optional] Wares integration - If Wares is installed, circlets are adding to the wares leveled lists through MWSE.
-> a fifth 'Grand' tier of Tiaras if you use Wares, for lvl20+ characters.
  • [optional] DRIP integration - if DRIP is installed, some circlets will be enchanted

Although the circlets are registered as armor, their armor rating is zero. The armor rating from the helmet slot shall instead come from your toon's unarmored skill. Mechanically everything should function as if you are not wearing a helmet. This is the closest I can get to making circlets a clothing item for the head with current Onion functionality.

COMPATABILITY

Should be compatible with everything, but merge your leveled lists
