    Skyrim Unbound is definitely not the most compatible mod. By reading this article you will reduce the chance that something won't work.

    What SUR edits (in case you don't know how to use xEdit but still want to approximately estimate compatibility with other mods):
    SUR edits the following things and will likely conflict with mods that edit them:

    The first chapters of the main quest up to The Way Of The Voice aka MQ105
    Whiterun thaneship quest (Favor253)
    What happens when you kill a dragon
    How word walls work
    "Player NPC"
    Imperials/Stormcloak joining dialogues
    The Jagged Crown quest and dialogues
    The Whispering Door quest start dialogues ...

  • Creating Addons for Skyrim Unbound Reborn

    INTRODUCTION

    Skyrim Unbound Reborn includes an extension framework that allows users to extend the available starting options by creating addons. In most cases creating an addon requires using xEdit or Creation Kit (xEdit is enough for most things) and some basic mod editing/creation skills.

    PapyrusUtil is required for addons support.

    Addons are only read once, when you start a new game from the main menu. Therefore, if you added, removed, updated or edited an addon, you need to start a new game to see the changes.

    Armors
    Weapons - to existing or new weapon types and weapon sets
    Staffs (they're added in a different way)
    Spells
    Items

    General

    Don't use outdated translations, only use translations for version that you have installed.

    The mod doesn't work at all, i still get the vanilla cart intro
    Either:
    1. You have a conflicting mod that overwrites Skyrim Unbound plugin/scripts, namely qf_mq101_0003372b.pex script or/and MQ101 "Unbound" record.
    2. You have not enabled the mod in your mod-manager. For example, in Mod Organizer you need to enable the mod on the left panel and also activate the .esp plugin on the right panel.
    3. You did something else wrong when installing the mod or managing it ...

    Does it work on Skyrim VR?
    I don't have VR to test so i can't guarantee that everything works properly, but people say it works.
    There was an issue with MCM getting stuck on Skyrim Unbound after the start but it should be fixed now.
    It was reported that VR Keyboard and SkyUILib VR Patch are required to use the Save Preset option, since without them you can't type in the Save Preset text input window (which uses SkyUILib).
    Does it work on AE / SE / AE with Downgrade patcher?
    Yes, because SUR doesn't include any SKSE plugins. Make sure that you use the correct version of SKSE for your game version, though.

  • Patching conditions for Skyrim Unbound Reborn

    The Problem

    Mods usually use conditions on MQ104 quest (Dragon Rising), such as "if MQ104 is (not) completed", "if stage X of MQ104 is (not) done" or "if current stage of MQ104 is larger/lesser than X":

    to check if the player is known as Dragonborn / knows that they're Dragonborn or not
    to check if the player is a thane of Whiterun or not
    to check if dragons have already appeared in the world or not
    In vanilla all the three events happen at the same time, when you complete Dragon Rising. But with Skyrim Unbound it's tree different independent events, not matching conditions that work for vanilla game. In the original Skyrim Unbound MQ104 is completed from the game start.
