Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 Specs

I have the Tab A 9.7 version I can report the following :

Screen : is the most important thing on a mobile device, the resolution is extremely low with a weak 768 x 1024 pixels (~132 ppi pixel density), text will look ok when viewing a zoomed web page, at normal zoom, text will look grainy, picture quality is great and brightness is more than enough for any situation, if you watch videos or view pictures it's a fairly good screen, except for small text, there is no light bleeding on this panel (nexus 9 has a catastrophic light bleeding screen). Let's talk a bit about its resolution and pixel density, it is bothering me, really! Specially on web pages and small pieces of text, what's the point of having a large tablet if we keep zoming to read a column of text on a web page? None! I can do that on my 4 years old Note 2, but it's not convenient, I can not see small letters well on my Tab A 9.7, it looks grainy and sometimes I have to look really close to be able to read

Performance : is fairly good, everything works well and the UI is snappy, high quality videos (1080p mkv) works great, large pdf files are handled with ease, webpages are displayed instantly, there is no problem with performance on this tablet, light gaming is possible

Battery life : with airplane mode on about 13:00 hours screen on time of mixed continus use (youtube, light gaming, reading...) or about 10:00 hours SOT with 3g enabled

Build quality : is very good

Phone calls : works great over H+ or gsm (available in my country) signal strength is better than my note2

Wifi : much much better and more stable than my note2 (which is/or was a great phone)

Not a flag ship but very good for every day usage at this price. Excelent battery life, decent performance runs Asphalt 8 smoothly. Decent camera for 5 MP, decent sound, very good built quality, light and thin, a pleasure to hold. The display is ok, bright but somethimes when watching a movie in the dark areas you can see the pixels. The preinstaled video player is awful, and there is also a stupid news app the is build in called Briefing (actually is Flipboard). Overall a good tablet for this price.
